Mead Stark along with Checketts McKay Law have been working in conjuncton with others, to get reporting exemptions for irrigation companies in the region. To exempt these companies from the costly and onerous Financial Markets Authority Act reporting requirements for issuer companies.
After some hard work collectively we have been successful, with a practical exemption for Co-operative companies, due to be passed in the next week or so and a submission filed for this to be extended to standard companies as well.

The Central Otago Sports Turf Trust is raising funds to complete a $1.7 million upgrade from a sand-based turf to a international standard water-based turf, as well as build an amenities building. The turf is well-used throughout the Central Otago region by schools, hockey clubs as well as hosting regional tournaments.
The club has raised the "lions share" with the turf has now upgraded, and is looking for additional grant funding and help from the community with the remainder for the amenities building.
